. KATHMANDU: Home Minister Sudhan Gurung and lawmakers representing Madhes and Lumbini provinces in the House of Representatives held discussions on the issues related to controlling trans-border crimes and smuggling.
During the discussion held at the Home Ministry on Friday, the lawmakers demanded effective control of smuggling in the border areas.TAG_OPEN_div_6 In this context, the lawmakers suggested reforming the existing customs system, reviewing the customs rate, developing an effective border monitoring and monitoring mechanism, simplifying the customs process of agricultural goods and fertiliser and determining criteria to exempt customs duty to the people residing in border areas on the import of daily essentials.
