Nepalgunj. Two members of a family were killed and two others injured in an ambulance accident in Bardiya district on Sunday morning.

The deceased have been identified as Bhumi Lamichhane, 55, of Gulariya municipality-5 and her seven-year-old grandson Rihans, said Saroj Poudel, Superintendent of Police (SP) at the District Police Office, Bardiya.

According to him, he was on his way to the yoga camp when he was hit by a speeding ambulance. Lamichhane was also a yoga guru, police said.

Lamichhane’s spouse Sita, 50, and Surya Upadhyaya, 65, were injured in the incident. The injured are undergoing treatment at Nepalgunj Nursing Home.

Following the accident, police have taken the ambulance and driver under control for further investigation, said Police Inspector Prakash Singh Karki of District Police Office, Bardiya. ,
