Goods worth Rs 79.54 billion exported to Birgunj

Persa. Goods worth Rs 79.54 billion have been exported to foreign countries through Birgunj border point in the first nine months of the current fiscal year.

According to the Birgunj Customs Office, imports increased by 15 per cent to Rs 10.19 billion in the first nine months of the current fiscal year. In the first nine months of the last fiscal year, goods worth Rs 69.35 billion were exported to foreign countries.

Udaya Singh Bista, information officer at the Birgunj Customs Office, said exports have increased by 15 percent in the current fiscal year. Soybean oil worth Rs 43.61 billion was exported through this border point in the first nine months of the current fiscal year. In the same period last year, soybean oil worth Rs 36.62 billion was exported.

Fruit juice worth Rs 5.84 billion was exported to foreign countries in the first nine months of the current fiscal year compared to Rs 5.77 billion in the same period of the last fiscal year.

Similarly, refined palm oil worth Rs 5.24 billion was exported in the first nine months of the current fiscal year compared to Rs 590 million in the same period of the previous fiscal year.

In the first nine months of the current fiscal year, the export of refined oil amounted to Rs 5.05 billion, compared to Rs 610 billion in the same period of the last fiscal year. Textiles worth Rs 2.69 billion were exported in the first nine months of the current fiscal year. Similarly, synthetic yarn worth Rs 1.94 billion was exported in the first nine months of the current fiscal year, according to Birgunj Customs.
