Kathmandu. PhonePe Payment Services Limited has announced the formal integration of Himalayan Bank Limited into its network. With this, it has joined the national integrated network with PhonePay, a leading institution in the private commercial banking sector, further strengthening the digital payment infrastructure in Nepal.
Established in 1993, Himalayan Bank has long been synonymous with trust, innovation and modern banking services. The extensive branch network and solid customer base across the country have established Himalayan Bank as a reputed private sector financial institution. According to Diwas Kumar, CEO of PhonePe, Himalayan Bank’s association is a “defining moment” in Nepal’s digital payments journey. According to him, the deep trust that Himalayan Bank has built among its customers and PhonePe’s access to more than 2 million merchant touchpoints will further accelerate the campaign towards a cashless Nepal.TAG_OPEN_p_8
Similarly, Ashok SJB Rana, Chief Executive Officer of Himalayan Bank, said that joining the PhonePe network is a natural extension of the bank’s long-term leadership and journey of innovation. The partnership is currently in the phase of technical integration. Once completed, Himalayan Bank customers will be able to use the payment service seamlessly across the PhonePe network.TAG_OPEN_p_6
