Humla. The 4G tower, which was damaged in April, has come into operation after repairs.
Locals of the affected areas were deprived of internet service for the past two weeks after the 4G repeater tower at Khatilekh under Bhubrelekh of Sarkegad Rural Municipality-6 was disrupted. The tower had stopped functioning since April 14.
A technical team was mobilized at the initiative of Nepal Telecom Simkot after the service was disrupted, but on Saturday, a team led by Nepal Telecom’s technician Ujjan Shahi reached the concerned site and completed the repair work and started the 4G service. He said that the internet service stopped working due to the problem in the battery backup of the tower and the tower started working from Saturday.
Jeevan Chhatyal of Sarkegad-7 said that 4G internet service has been restored in Kharpunath-1, 2 and 3 and Sarkegad-1, 2, 3 and 6 after the repair of the tower. After the service came into operation, it has become easier for the locals to use communication and internet. Similarly, Lal Bahadur Shahi of Kharpunath-1 expressed happiness over the restoration of the service and urged the concerned authorities to pay attention to prevent such problems from recurring in the future.
