KATHMANDU: Chinese Ambassador to Nepal Chang Maoming paid a courtesy call on Minister for Education, Science and Technology, Sasmit Pokhrel.

During the meeting held at the Ministry on Monday, they discussed the Chinese government’s support and cooperation in the fields of education, science and technology and sports in Nepal.

Discussions were held on institutional development and contemporary issues, especially the infrastructure of schools, ‘digital’ system in teaching and learning. They also discussed the historic bilateral relations between Nepal and China, focusing on cooperation and mutual cooperation.

Education Minister Pokharel, who is also the Spokesperson of the government, said he wished to see more cooperation and partnership with the Chinese government as well as infrastructure development of schools, institutional development of digital system in teaching and learning activities.

He also drew the attention of the Chinese government to complete the projects in the education sector at the earliest and to promote the scholarships to be provided by the Chinese government as per the interest of Nepali youths.

Chinese Ambassador Maoming said that the Chinese government is willing to partner and cooperate in the issues put forth by the Government of Nepal. During the meeting, it was agreed to further strengthen the multi-dimensional relations and mutual interests between the two countries.
