Kathmandu. The government has shown interest in collaborating with the Finnish government to improve school education. Minister Pokharel put forth a proposal to collaborate with Finland in education sector during a meeting with Hon’ble Minister of Education, Science and Technology Sasmit Pokharel at the Ministry on Wednesday. Finland’s education is of the highest quality in the world.
On the occasion, Education Minister Pokharel thanked the Finnish government for its support in Nepal’s development endeavors, stating that Nepal and Finland have always enjoyed cordial relations. Appreciating the Finnish government’s support in education sector, Minister Pokharel expected continued support of Finland in education sector in days ahead.
On the occasion, matters relating to bilateral relations, mobilization of development assistance and enhancement of wider partnership in education sector were discussed between the Minister and the ambassador.
On the occasion, Ambassador Puhakka pledged to continue the support provided by the Finnish government to Nepal’s education sector for the next five years. The School Education Sector Programme and the Teachers Education Project are currently being implemented with the support of Finland.
On the occasion, Ambassador Puhakka said that Finland has expertise in autism and inclusive education and that they are willing to cooperate and collaborate with Autism Schools.
Ambassador Puhakka expressed his willingness to collaborate with the Finnish government in this area as well in line with the Finnish government’s expertise in the ‘digital transformation’ agenda which is one of the priorities of the current government.
