Heavy rain system with thunderstorm moving towards east, rain in Kathmandu Valley

. According to the Department of Hydrology and Meteorology, the system that causes heavy rainfall is moving towards the east. Rainfall has started taking place in most places of Bagmati Province and Madhes Province along with Kathmandu Valley.
According to the Meteorological Forecasting Division, light to moderate rain accompanied by gusty winds and lightning is taking place in various districts of Karnali and Lumbini provinces at present.TAG_OPEN_div_38 Department’s meteorologist Sanjeev Adhikari said the rain system is moving towards the east.
TAG_OPEN_div_36 The Meteorological Department has forecast rain accompanied by gusty, thunderstorm and lightning due to the active weather system throughout the country at present. According to Meteorologist Adhikari, the rain system that started from the Far-west region has already spread to Bagmati and Madhes provinces via Lumbini. The wind speed will reach up to 40 kilometers per hour and its impact will remain for up to two hours in some places.
TAG_OPEN_div_34 There is a possibility of heavy rain today and it is expected to decrease a bit later in the evening. However, the rain system will remain active throughout the week, the Department said.
At present, there is a combined influence of the westerly wind, the local wind and the low pressure area in the lower atmosphere near the eastern part of Nepal. Similarly, the low pressure trough that extends from east to west through the southern part of Nepal has been impacting the weather.
According to Meteorological Forecasting Division, there will be generally cloudy in the Sudurpaschim Province while the weather will be generally cloudy in the Karnali and Koshi Provinces.TAG_OPEN_div_30 The weather will be partly cloudy in the hilly and terai region of the country. Light rain is likely to occur at some places of the Far-west region with thunder and lightning.

Light rain or thunder likely to occur at some places of the hilly and mountainous regions and at a few places of the western region, chances of heavy rainfall at a few places of the Sudurpaschim, Karnali, Lumbini and Sudurpaschim provinces. The Meteorological Forecasting Division has predicted heavy rainfall at one or two places of these provinces.

There are chances of moderate rainfall at some places of Koshi, Madhes, Bagmati, Gandaki and Lumbini provinces and at a few places of the rest of the provinces on Tuesday.TAG_OPEN_div_24 The weather will be cloudy in these provinces tonight with chances of rain accompanied by thunder in some places.
On Wednesday, there will be generally cloudy in the hilly and mountainous regions of Koshi, Madhes, Bagmati, Gandaki and Lumbini provinces.TAG_OPEN_div_22 Moderate rain with thunder and lightning is likely to occur at some places of these regions and light rain at some places of Tarai.
