Bhairahawa. A total of 19 Nepali nationals have been arrested for gambling at a casino in Siddharthanagar of Rupandehi.

A joint team from the Lumbini Provincial Police Office and the District Police Office, Rupandehi raided the Royal Kalinga Casino located inside Hotel Gautam Buddha International at Siddharthanagar Municipality-10 last night.

Information Officer at the District Police Office, Deputy Superintendent of Police Krishna Kumar Chand said the arrestees include four people involved in casino management and 15 involved in gambling. They were taken into custody in course of a special intelligence operation.

Those arrested are from different districts and Rupandehi area. Police confiscated Rs 95,500, 17 mobile phones and 50 casino coins from the incident site. Police said that further investigation into the gambling charge is underway.
