Kathmandu. KATHMANDU: The Ministry of Land Management, Cooperatives and Poverty Alleviation has directed the concerned individuals, institutions and bodies to vacate the land and structures constructed on it.
According to the Ministry, as per Clause 21 (2) of the Task Policy on Registration, Use and Leasing of Government Land, 2079 (with second amendment), the parties who had previously acquired the right to occupy the land were given six months to convert the land into lease. The then Department of Land Reform and Management had published a notice for this on 2073/02/31 and 2074/01/21.
However, in the case of persons, institutions and agencies who have not applied for change in lease within the stipulated time, the right to occupancy has been automatically terminated, according to the Ministry.
The Ministry has also asked all concerned to deposit the remaining amount in the government fund and vacate the land and structures constructed on it as soon as possible.
