Kathmandu. The budget session of the Federal Parliament is beginning from Monday. The government’s policy program will also be presented tomorrow.
President Ram Chandra Poudel is scheduled to address a joint session of both houses of the Federal Parliament tomorrow, according to Parliament Secretariat spokesperson Ek Ram Giri. According to him, the President will present the policies and programmes of the government at 4:00 pm as per the Article 95 of the Constitution of Nepal.
The Article states that the President shall address a joint sitting of both the Houses of Parliament after the commencement of the first session of the House of Representatives and the first session of each year. The parliament secretariat has requested the members of the House of Representatives and National Assembly to be present in the joint meeting before 3:45 pm.
Before that, the meetings of the House of Representatives and the National Assembly will be held at 2:00 pm. According to the Parliament Secretariat, the House of Representatives is likely to inform the House about the letter of summoning the House session of the House of Representatives and inform the House about the information received from the Office of the President regarding the reshuffle of the Council of Ministers.
Likewise, nomination of members to chair the House of Representatives meeting in absence of the Speaker, removal of obstacles issued as per Rule 260 of the House of Representatives Regulations, 2079 BS and presentation of draft of the House of Representatives Regulations are also on the agenda.
Likewise, the Public Procurement (Second Amendment) Ordinance, 2083, the Special Provision Ordinance on the Removal of Public Officials Ordinance, 2083 and the Constitutional Council (Functions, Duties, Rights and Procedure) First Amendment Ordinance, 2083 are on the agenda of the meeting. The ordinances will also be tabled in the National Assembly meeting.
