Lalitpur. KATHMANDU: Rastriya Swatantra Party (RSP) President Rabi Lamichhane has stressed the need to keep people’s welfare and sentiment at the centre while formulating laws and procedures.
Speaking at the concluding session of training organized by the party’s training department for lawmakers here today, he directed the party cadres to take responsibility for law-making rather than making social prestige as the criterion for success.
President Lamichhane clarified that the ordinance was brought to resolve the problems existing in the country and the party-led government would not go against the interest of the people. “The government is taking steps thoughtfully, there is no need to mourn the decisions taken by the government till date. We have not taken any decision that will cause inconvenience to the country and citizens as the ordinance has been brought to correct policy shortcomings and to speed up development works. We are concerned about the love of the people and the future of the country. ”
President Lamichhane said that the Nepali people have given people’s mandate to the Rastriya Samajwadi Party for change and urged the lawmakers not to think that they are all virtuous if they win the election. Stating that other political parties brought about change through relentless struggle in the past, he stressed that they should carry out works accordingly as the responsibility has now fallen on their shoulders to change the condition of the people.
“In the past, the political parties had toppled the autocratic regime through relentless struggle, and although there were some differences with the parties who were involved in the journey of change by risking their lives, we did not have to struggle much like them,” he said, adding, “The system changed yesterday, but the situation has not changed, so the people have trusted us.” Believers in various political parties have left their parties and voted for us, so no one should be disrespected. ”
Stating that the general public, society and the country were watching us, Lamichhane directed the lawmakers to play a constructive role in building the nation. “We are not on a journey to write biographies, we are on a journey to write history. Therefore, this is not the time to ask for the value of contribution to the party. Now, let’s all work together for a revolution to change the situation,” he said.
President Lamichhane said that the government would provide rights to all landless and squatters. “We will work as per the promises made during the elections. We will form a high-level commission to resolve the problems of squatters permanently. We are committed to ensuring the rights of all as per the spirit of the constitution,” he asserted.
President Lamichhane said that the recommendation for the post of Chief Justice has been made as per the constitutional provision. He said that the government was busy in preparing the budget and discussions were held with the Finance Minister to make it excellent. He expressed the view that works would be carried out to increase the capacity of the state considering the entire country as our constituency.
