Kathmandu. The National Human Rights Commission (NHRC) has submitted to the government the issues that the government should prioritize in the field of human rights. NHRC Spokesperson Dr Tikaram Pokharel said that the NHRC submitted it to the government specifying the priorities of the incumbent government for the implementation of human rights obligations guaranteed by the Constitution of Nepal, other prevailing laws and international treaties and conventions ratified by Nepal.
The letter sent by the NHRC on May 5 included implementation of fundamental rights, legal reforms, transitional justice, national action plan on human rights, development and human rights, suggestions received from international mechanisms related to human rights and consolidation of the National Human Rights Commission.
The letter talks in detail about the overall works to be carried out in the field of elections, human rights and public service delivery and human rights. The Commission has expected that the government would implement the issues sent by the Commission with priority.
