Kathmandu. A three-member recommendation committee has been formed to select the vice-chancellor and registrar of the martyr Dasharath Chand Health University.

A meeting of the KU Senate presided over by Minister for Education, Science and Technology Sasmit Pokharel on Wednesday decided to this effect.

The committee comprises Prof Dr Lochana Shrestha and Prof Dr Dinesh Lamsal as members. Prof Dr Awasthi is also the founding vice-chancellor of Sudurpaschim University. According to the university, the committee was formed as per the Martyr Dasharath Chand Health University Act 2082.

The meeting also nominated six senators ensuring representation from different sectors. The Senate inducted distinguished personalities including two women from science and technology, education, law, management, anthropology and sociology.
