Kathmandu. In the past 24 hours, 2,144 drivers have been taken action for violating traffic rules. This has contributed Rs 19.95 lakh to the state exchequer.
According to the Kathmandu Valley Traffic Police Office, 91 people were taken for drunken driving, 151 for ride-sharing, 149 for breaching signal lights and 186 for speeding.
Similarly, action has been taken against 102 for flouting lane discipline, 142 for blowing horn in prohibited areas, 95 for parking vehicles on the pavement, 118 for one-way driving and 1,110 for not following other traffic rules.
