Kathmandu. Kathmandu: The Department of Hydrology and Meteorology has issued a special bulletin on hot day and heatwave, urging the public to take necessary precautions.
According to the Meteorological Forecasting Bulletin issued on Friday evening, there is a possibility of maximum temperature of 38 degrees Celsius or more in the hilly and Tarai region of Lumbini Province and Sudurpaschim Province for the next three days.
Meteorologist Sanjeev Adhikari said that there is the possibility of moderate heat wave in the Tarai region of Lumbini and Sudurpaschim Province for the next 3 days.
According to him, the maximum temperature in the hilly and Tarai areas of Sudurpaschim Province and the Tarai region of Lumbini Province has recorded maximum temperature of 40 degrees Celsius or more since this month. Similarly, the maximum temperature in the hilly and terai region of Sudurpaschim and Lumbini Province was recorded at 38 degrees Celsius.
Affected districts
According to the Department, Kanchanpur, Kailali, Doti, Bardiya, Banke and Dang are the districts that need to be updated while Baitadi, Dadeldhura, Achham, Surkhet, Salyan, Rolpa, Pyuthan, Palpa, Arghakhanchi, Rupandehi and Kapilvastu are the districts that need to be updated.
The department has urged people to avoid the possible effects of heat wave such as tiredness, weakness, excessive thirst, headache, dizziness, fainting, muscle aches, vomiting, etc.
The department has asked people to stay indoors during the summer, do not go out in the outdoor environment, do not go out in the hot sun, wear light clothes, cover the head while going out, wear a cap.
Likewise, the ministry has urged the people to drink plenty of water and liquid (juice, servat, etc.) regularly (frequently) and to be in regular contact with the health workers if they face health problems and seek further advice and suggestions.
The Department has also urged the Division to regularly update the weather bulletin and update the weather bulletin.
