Kathmandu. KATHMANDU: Nepal Insurance Authority (NEA) is to amend its ‘Insurance Claim Payment Guideline, 2081’. The NRA has started the process of amending the existing guidelines, saying it is necessary to make them timely, practical and effective.

Earlier, it was mainly a practice to collect suggestions from insurers and reinsurers, but this time feedback will be collected from the insured, insurance surveyor, insurance agent and the general public.

Issuing a public notice, the authority has called on the insurers, reinsurers, insurance surveyors, insurance agents, insured and general public to send their clear opinions and suggestions within 15 days from the date of publication of the notice.

The regulator is going to revise the directive and tighten the directive after the number of complaints has increased in the NEA for not paying the claim in recent times.
