Kathmandu. The Commission for the Investigation of Abuse of Authority (CIAA) has filed a case at the Special Court against 3 persons on the charge of making adverse statements in a bribery case.

The commission has alleged that 3 people who were presented as government witnesses had given false statements. The commission had presented them as witnesses in a case already registered before the special court.

The CIAA has claimed that Prahlad Gautam, Biplav Pokhrel and Rajesh Shrestha, who were present as government witnesses, did not cooperate during the investigation and gave false statements. It has been confirmed that the statement made in the Special Court on May 8 was contrary to the statement made by the investigating officer.

The CIAA has sought Rs 56,350 against Biplav Pokhrel of Putalibazaar, Prahlad Gautam of Hetauda Sub-Metropolitan City and Rajesh Shrestha of Tripurasundari in Sindhupalchowk Rs 27,350. They had given the same amount to Dhundiraj Dahal as bribe. Dahal was earlier arrested on the charge of taking bribe.
