Banke. A fire that broke out at Everest Ply Door Industry at Nepalgunj Sub-metropolis-21, Phultekra in the district has caused a loss worth Rs 50 million.

The fire, which broke out on Friday afternoon, was brought under control on Saturday. According to industry proprietor Prakash Rana, the fire has gutted all machinery, raw materials and door of the factory to ashes. According to him, the fire has destroyed the machinery, raw materials and prepared doors of the factory.

It is suspected that the fire might have been caused by short circuit. Spokesperson of the District Police Office, Banke, Deputy Superintendent of Police Pratit Singh Rathaur said that the fire that started on Friday afternoon was brought under control on Saturday. According to him, the fire was put out with the joint efforts of the Nepal Army, Nepal Police, Armed Police Force and locals. The cause of the fire and the extent of damage are being ascertained. –
