Kathmandu. KATHMANDU — Nepal Foreign Employment Entrepreneurs’ Association (NAFEA) has elected a new executive committee.
According to the election results held on Sunday, Dik Bahadur Khatri ‘Kumar’ has been elected the president of the association.
As per the final result of the election, Khatri garnered 347 votes. His nearest rival Meghnath Bhurtel got 192 votes while his other contender Hari Bahadur Pandey got 170 votes.
Khatri will be backed by the UML while Bhurtel is backed by the Congress and Pandey is with the support of the RSP. He was previously a UML. In this election, UML has defeated the RSP.
Likewise, Mahesh Kumar Basnet has been elected the first vice-president of the association. He got 241 votes. Sanju Gurung and Karna Raj Katuwal got 228 and 231 votes. Likewise, Anil Bogati was elected to the post of second vice-president with 315 votes. Likewise, Bal Krishna Shrestha got 168 votes and Rabin Meghale Magar got 205 votes.
Likewise, Hira Bahadur Dangi (Hari) has been elected to the post of General Secretary with 273 votes. Kedarnath Adhikari has been elected secretary with 294 votes while Dhanmaya Sinjali has been elected treasurer with 323 votes.
Likewise, Rama Khadka, Bibash Dhungana, Dhruba GC, Taramani Rai, Tara Tamang, Rabindra Rai, Bhawana Gajurel, Geeta Raut and Dikshya Dahal have been elected as executive members.
Newly-elected president Khatri pledged to work for the welfare of entrepreneurs and workers during his tenure. He said that he would work in such a way that the confidence of the businessmen would not be weakened in this time. He said that if the problems in the existing Act are resolved, this sector can be made dignified and professional and will work on it with dedication.
He pledged to work in a way to make the foreign employment sector dignified, professional and safe. He said that the government will take initiative for policy reforms in this sector. He said he would work together with the government during his tenure.
