Lumbini. Rupandehi: The Rupandehi police on Tuesday seized goods evading customs duty from a businessman’s godown in Bhairahawa. Acting on information that the goods were concealed, the police raided and confiscated the goods.
Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP) Krishna Kumar Chand of District Police Office, Rupandehi said that goods worth Rs 4.132 million were confiscated from a godown of a trader at Belhiya of Siddharthanagar Municipality-1.
Police confiscated 53 sacks of watermelon seeds worth Rs 2.332 lakh, 44 cartons of Colgate worth Rs 570,240, 227 sacks of walnut worth Rs 1.135 lakh and 38 sacks of maize worth Rs 95,000.
The seized goods have been sent to Bhairahawa Customs Office for necessary action.
