Kathmandu. KATHMANDU: IME Bank, synonymous with Nepali remittance service, celebrated its 26th anniversary in Kathmandu on Friday. Speaking on the occasion, Hem Raj Dhakal, Founder and Chairman of IME Limited, expressed his determination to deliver more refined, secure and speedy integrated financial services through digital innovation in the days ahead, making financial inclusion and economic transformation the main mantra.

He recalled that the small concept born out of his experience while working abroad has become not only a remittance service but also a reliable and integral part of the entire financial and digital payment system. IME has been playing an important role in promoting financial inclusion and socio-economic transformation by expanding financial access to the remote to urban areas of the country.

Chairman Dhakal expressed his commitment to make remittances and other financial services more sophisticated, secure and fast by adopting the latest technology as the main objective of “development of technology along with economic transformation” in the context of changing nature of service delivery with the development of Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning.

Similarly, Founder of IME Group, Chandra Prasad Dhakal, said that it was a matter of pride to have established the identity of ‘Remit is IME’ and ‘IME is Remit’ in 26 years of its journey. He pledged to continue working with the government to bring remittance through the formal system, contribute to strengthening foreign exchange reserve and make the national economy dynamic by channeling the received remittance to productive sectors.

Similarly, Chief Executive Officer of IME Limited, Diwakar Poudel, said that IME has been delivering its service keeping cooperation, technical excellence, business ethics and common values as the main line of action. On the occasion, IME’s new logo was also unveiled. The new logo will represent IME’s broader range of financial services. On the occasion, the winners and runners-up of inter-company sports and various competitions were awarded certificates, medals and trophies. In addition, special honors were given to the long-standing employees of the company. The event was graced by the presence of Directors, CEOOs, management chiefs and employees of IME Limited.
