Kathmandu. KATHMANDU: The Kathmandu Metropolitan City (KMC) is to make arrangements to determine the tax rates on the basis of purpose and specific area in order to make the rent and business tax to be scientific, fair and taxpayer-friendly.

This has been mentioned in the policy and program of the fiscal year 2083/084.

“Taxpayers who are not in the tax net will be identified and motivated to pay tax, appropriate exemption facilities will be provided, information related to revenue service and messages of KMC will be disseminated to the taxpayers through SMS,” the Policies and Programmes reads. The Unified Taxpayer Identification Number will be fully implemented. Arrangements will be made to compulsorily register the houses and lands given to the restored houses, other structures and properties. ’
