Kathmandu. Minister for Foreign Affairs Shishir Khanal, who is on a four-day official visit to China, and Chairman of the National Committee of the Chinese People’s Political Consultative Conference, Wang Huning, held talks today.
During the meeting held in Beijing this morning, the two leaders discussed various dimensions of Nepal-China relations, according to the Nepali Embassy in Beijing. Particularly, the exchange of views was on development cooperation, trade, investment, tourism, political exchanges and further strengthening the people-to-people relations, according to the embassy.
Minister Khanal expressed confidence that the traditional friendship and mutual cooperation between the two countries would be further strengthened in the coming days, while appreciating CPPCC Chairman Wang’s firm commitment to further consolidate and sustain the long-standing friendly relations between the two countries.
Minister Khanal is scheduled to visit the White Pagoda today itself and then give interviews to Chinese media and Reuters. He is scheduled to participate in an investment summit taking place at the Nepali Embassy in Beijing this afternoon.
Minister Khanal had arrived in Beijing this morning at the invitation of Chinese Minister for Foreign Affairs and Political Bureau member of the Communist Party of China Central Committee, Wang Yi. The two leaders held delegation-level talks on Monday. Minister Khanal is scheduled to return home on June 17 after completing his visit.
