Kathmandu. KATHMANDU: The Ministry of Information and Communications has formed a 4-member committee to study and investigate the procurement process of equipment and technology carried out by the Public Service Broadcasting Company, Nepal Television, at different times.
According to the Ministry, Dr. A four-member probe committee has been formed under the convenorship of Sudip Bhattarai.
The committee has been asked to submit a report with suggestions to the Ministry within 21 days after carrying out a factual study of complaints and reports related to various equipments, software and digital systems purchased by Nepal Television.
The committee has been mandated to carry out a detailed study on the graphics system, new media (digital platform) services, audio/video equipment, digital transmitter and playout automation system purchased by Itahari channel.
There have been complaints and complaints about these issues at various bodies. In regard to such complaints and complaints, the Ministry has formed a probe committee for its internal information.
For the past few years, questions have been raised on Nepal Television regarding transparency and compliance with the legal process for the modernization of technology and broadcasting system.
Earlier, the ministry had formed a probe committee to investigate into the purchase of satellites by public service broadcasting institutions.
