CIAA summons Arzoo Rana to give statement on e-passport procurement process

Kathmandu. The Commission for the Investigation of Abuse of Authority (CIAA) has summoned former Minister for Foreign Affairs and Nepali Congress leader Arzoo Rana Deuba to record his statement in connection with the e-passport purchase case. The EC posted a notice at Rana’s home address and extended the deadline.

“The EC has set a deadline for Arzoo Rana to appear before him for statement within 35 days at Deuba’s ruined residence. Deuba had gone to Singapore 4 months ago for treatment. The EC has remanded Rana to his home address as he did not return to Nepal from Singapore.

Although Arzoo is not directly involved in the contract, the commission has summoned him for statement due to suspicion that he may also be involved in the contract as the Minister of Foreign Affairs.
