Kathmandu. KATHMANDU: The Kathmandu Metropolitan City (KMC) has presented its programme and budget, financial bill and appropriation bill for the upcoming fiscal year 2083/84.
A total budget of Rs 25.88 billion has been presented for the implementation of the policies and programmes of the Kathmandu Metropolitan City, including Rs 25.13 billion in the consolidated fund and Rs 750 million in external expenses.
The government had approved a budget of Rs 25.11 billion for the current fiscal year 2082/83. Acting Mayor of Kathmandu Metropolitan City Sunita Dangol stated this while unveiling the budget for the fiscal year 2084/085 BS. “It is estimated that Rs 25.13 billion will be deposited in the consolidated fund for the coming fiscal year,” said Acting Mayor Dangol while delivering the budget speech today, “Out of this, a total of Rs 20.18 billion will be managed including internal income and bank reserves of Kathmandu Metropolitan City.” The source of the grant from equalization and revenue sharing is estimated to be Rs 93.67 crore. Similarly, it is estimated that Rs 10 million will be provided for public participation. ’
He said that the total budget for economic development under the budget and program presented is 2.5 percent of the total budget for economic development. 1 percent i.e. Rs 54 crore 18 lakh 20 thousand has been proposed. 9. In the field of social development. Six percent i.e. Rs 2.42 billion has been proposed. 61 per cent of the budget for infrastructure development is Rs 15.31 billion.
Good Governance and Interrelated Areas 8. 5 percent i.e. 2.13 billion 47 million 92 thousand has been proposed, while 18 percent has been proposed for office operation and administrative sector. 8 percent i.e. Rs 4.71 billion 69 lakh 64 thousand has been proposed.
