Kathmandu. Minister for Law, Justice and Parliamentary Affairs Sobita Gautam held a meeting with Minister for Youth, Labour and Employment Ramji Yadav on Monday.

On Thursday, Minister Yadav held a discussion with Minister Yadav to work towards meeting the priorities and targets for the formulation of laws. Earlier on Wednesday, the Minister had held discussions with the Ministry of Science, Technology and Innovation, the Ministry of Finance, the Ministry of Home Affairs and the Ministry of Energy, Water Resources and Irrigation.

Minister Gautam urged the bodies concerned to prepare bills by determining the priorities of the laws needed in the coming days.

During the discussion on Thursday, Minister Gautam said that there should be equal understanding among all the ministries while determining the priorities and targets for law formulation.

She also informed about the need to make the timeline realistic and implementable while preparing the list of lawmakers. Minister Gautam said that the plan related to the formulation of laws should be clear and practical so that it would be completed on time.

According to the ministry, the meeting has been convened to develop a common understanding of the status of the bills so far and the goals ahead. During the discussion, Minister Yadav pledged to formulate laws and policies addressing the new challenges and issues related to youths.

He also stressed the need of promoting domestic employment as the concept of employment was changing. He complained to Minister Gautam that many of the ministries’ plans and targets could not be implemented due to lack of necessary laws and budget.

He was concerned about the lack of clear policies and laws regarding national employment, although the issue of national employment is important. Minister for Law, Justice and Parliamentary Affairs Gautam is holding inter-ministerial discussions on formulating necessary laws and bills to amend existing laws as per the government’s hundred-point action plan.
