Nepalese buy smartphones worth Rs 43.45 billion in 11 months, how much is imported from which country?

Kathmandu. According to the Department of Customs, 2,041,199 units of smart phones worth Rs 43.45 billion were imported till mid-June of the current fiscal year.

According to the Department of Customs, phones worth Rs 32.08 billion were imported in the same period of the last fiscal year. The government has earned Rs 8.10 billion in revenue from the import of smart phones.

During this period, most of the phones were imported from China. A total of 1,710,910 smartphones worth Rs 32.84 billion were imported from China.

After China, most of the phones were imported from India.

During this period, 319,582 units of phones worth Rs 9.82 billion were imported from India. Similarly, 1,425 units of phones worth Rs 176.632 crore were imported from the US during the period.

Most of the phones in Nepal are imported from China, India, America, Australia, UAE, Japan, Cambodia, South Korea, UK, Qatar, Canada, Hong Kong, Malaysia, Portugal, Bangladesh, Saudi Arabia, Finland, Israel, New Zealand, Kuwait, among other countries.
