Commercial banks’ investment in hire purchase loans increased by 11.26 percent.

. As of mid-April of the current fiscal year, 20 commercial banks have invested Rs 125.78 billion for hire-purchase loans. Such loans have increased by 11.2656 percent in a year.

Banks had invested Rs 113.04 billion in such loans till mid-April of the last fiscal year. Everest Bank has been successful in increasing the highest number of hire purchase loan investment as compared to the end of April last year.

Some banks have reduced their investment in hire purchase loans in the month of April compared to the previous year. Standard Chartered Bank’s investment decreased by 42.38 percent to Rs 983.5 million in a year.

NIC Asia Bank fell by 38.94 percent, Kumari Bank by 37.16 percent, Nepal Bank by 19.57 percent, Prabhu Bank by 7.15 percent, Global IME Bank by 1.23 percent and Sanima Bank by 0.83 percent.TAG_OPEN_div_27
