. KATHMANDU: The Special Court has remanded former Deputy Prime Minister and former Finance Minister Bishnu Poudel to custody for seven days in connection with a money laundering case.
A bench of Special Court members Narayan Prasad Poudel, }Hemanta Rawal and {Umesh Koirala{ remanded Poudel to seven-day custody with effect from Monday.TAG_OPEN_p_9 The Department of Money Laundering Investigation has been given permission to do so.
As per the court’s order, the department will have to present Poudel before the Special Court for further extension of the remand as per the progress of the investigation.TAG_OPEN_p_8
Former Deputy Prime Minister and FinanceTAG_OPEN_span_3 Minister Bishnu Poudel was arrested from Surkhet on Sunday.TAG_OPEN_p_7 After his arrest, he was brought to Kathmandu via land route. He was produced before the special court on Monday and remanded in custody for seven days.
