Kathmandu. KATHMANDU — The closed session of the first national general convention of the Rastriya Swatantra Party (Rastriya Swatantra Party (RSP) has begun from 2:00 pm today. According to the RSP, the closed session which was supposed to start from 8:30 am on Monday has been delayed by a day due to technical reasons.
According to RSP Chitwan President E Mini Madhav Khanal, the closed session will begin after the distribution of identity cards. The distribution of general convention identity cards has started a while ago. It is said that the closed session of the general convention has been postponed as it took more time to verify the list of delegates received from the province and to print the general convention delegate card. After the card distribution, the closed session will be conducted as per the previous schedule.
According to RSP General Secretary Kabindra Burlakoti, the closed session will hold discussions on the report presented by Ramakanta Rimal on behalf of the Discipline Commission. After that, the financial report presented by Treasurer Lima Adhikari will be discussed in the closed session.
Similarly, joint general secretary Bipin Kumar Acharya will present the amendment proposal on the party’s statute, general secretary Burlakoti will present the organizational report while vice-president Dr Swarnim Wagle will separately present the party’s economic and political proposal.
The closed session will discuss the political report to be presented by party President Rabi Lamichhane after the proposal to be presented by the party office-bearers during the closed session is endorsed. Meanwhile, party President Lamichhane will announce the formation of an interim management committee and hand over all the responsibilities of the organizing committee to the Election Commission. After that, the EC is scheduled to publish information and schedule related to the election process.
The closed session of the general convention that was inaugurated at the Bharatpur Guest House ground on Sunday afternoon is being held at the Exhibition Centre of the Association of Nepalese Chambers of Commerce and Industry.
