Salt Trading Company distributes fertiliser in Jhapa

Jhapa. Salt Trading Corporation Limited and Jhapa branch of Agriculture Inputs Company have been selling chemical fertilizers to farmers through cooperatives and agriculture farms in the district.

In the current fiscal year 2082/83, a total 708.5 metric tons of chemical fertilizers were imported into the market, said Bishnu Neupane, chief of the corporation’s Jhapa branch. This includes 172.50 metric tonnes of urea fertilizer, 226 metric tonnes of DAP fertilizer and 410 metric tonnes of potash fertilizer.

According to him, 151 agriculture cooperatives and agriculture farms have been selected in the district to make fertilizer available to the farmers in an easy manner.

As per the details so far, 42 metric tonnes of urea fertilizer, 62.30 metric tonnes of DAP fertilizer and 5.75 metric tonnes of potash fertilizer have already been sold. Meanwhile, the Salt Trading Corporation and the Agriculture Inputs Company Limited Birtamod branch have also supplied fertilizer to 15 local levels of the district.

The Company has supplied 46 metric tonnes of chemical fertilizer to Gauradaha Municipality, Buddhashanti Rural Municipality and Kachankabal Rural Municipality this week.

The fertilizer is sold to farmers through cooperatives and farms. With the beginning of paddy plantation, farmers have been requiring urea, DAP and potash fertilizer.
