Kathmandu. The Supreme Court (SC) has ordered the government to furnish reasons for the investigation against CPN-UML vice-chairman and former deputy prime minister and finance minister Bishnu Poudel.

Poudel’s wife Domaya Poudel has filed a habeas corpus petition against Poudel’s detention.

A single bench of Justice Shreekanta Poudel was hearing the case today.

The Department of Money Laundering Investigation on Tuesday extended the custody of Poudel for 5 days on the basis of his statement that he was made known in the share transaction of Deepak Bhatta and Kamal Kishor Malpani Group.
