Kathmandu. The hearing on the writ petition filed by CPN (UML) vice-chair and former finance minister Bishnu Prasad Poudel at the Supreme Court is scheduled for June 30.

Poudel’s wife Domaya Poudel had filed a writ petition at the court on June 10, arguing that Poudel was detained illegally. A single bench of Justice Shreekanta Poudel issued the order to seek a written response from the Office of the Attorney General on June 29 and conduct the hearing on June 30.

Poudel was arrested from Surkhet on June 22 on the charge of money laundering and presented before the Special Court Kathmandu on June 9. The special court has remanded him in custody for seven days for further investigation. The Department of Money Laundering Investigation is investigating against Poudel.
