Former ANFA president Sherpa arrested

Kathmandu. KATHMANDU: Former president of All Nepal Football Association (ANFA) Karma Tsering Sherpa has been arrested by Nepal Police for his alleged involvement in the case.

A team from the Central Investigation Bureau (CIB) of Nepal Police arrested him on Friday evening for investigation on the charge of cheating and criminal breach of trust.

Spokesperson of the Bureau, Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Anupam Shumsher Rana said that they have been arrested on the charge of embezzling Rs 87.8 million from Tungaram International Academy.

According to the bureau, Sherpa took advantage of various conspiracies while working as the executive head of the school and is investigating the offence of harming the school.

It has been found during the investigation that Sherpa had sold 29 ropanis and 4 ana land at Dadhikot of Bhaktapur to a company under his ownership with the intention of causing undue harm to the school.
