Kathmandu. The Commission for the Investigation of Abuse of Authority (CIAA) has filed a corruption case against 27 persons, including the then chief of the Land Revenue Office, Tokha Saraswati, Subodh Kumar Khanal.
According to the CIAA, the case has been filed at the Special Court, Kathmandu on the charge of corruption by tampering with government records, preparing false documents and reports.
According to the CIAA, it was investigated on the charge of correcting government documents, tampering and incorporating wrong details in the land records of private guthis in the then Sangla VDC-9 of Kathmandu district.
During the investigation, it was found that the details of the land ownership register were manipulated, the details of the private guthi were removed through the amendment of electronic records, and the land was transacted by transferring, registration and resignation letters.
The court has demanded imprisonment, fine and punishment for various offences against Khanal, other employees of the Land Revenue Office and other people under the Prevention of Corruption Act, 2059.
