Kathmandu. At present, there is the influence of monsoon wind across the country. The monsoon low pressure trough is closer to the Tarai region of Nepal towards the north than the usual location.

The Department of Hydrology and Meteorology, Meteorological Forecasting Division said light to moderate rainfall is taking place at many places of Koshi, Bagmati and Gandaki provinces and at one or two places of Lumbini and Karnali provinces.

In the afternoon, it will be generally cloudy in Koshi, Madhes, Bagmati, Gandaki and Lumbini provinces while it will be generally cloudy in Karnali and Sudurpaschim provinces. Light rain or thunder and lightning is likely to occur at some places of the mountainous region of Koshi, Bagmati and Gandaki provinces and at a few ÷places of Lumbini, Karnali and ÷Sudurpaschim provinces.

Possibility remains for brief rain accompanied by thunder and lightning at many places of the hilly region of Koshi, Bagmati Province and Gandaki Province and at one or two places of Tarai Province of Madhes and Lumbini Province and at one or two places of Tarai Province in Karn÷ali Province.

Light rain is likely to occur at few places of the hilly region of Koshi, Bagmati and Gandaki provinces while heavy rainfall has been predicted at one or two places of the hilly region of Koshi, Bagmati and Gandaki provinces.

Tonight, it will be generally cloudy throughout the country. Light rain or thunder likely to occur at a few places of the mountainous region in Koshi, Bagmati Province and Gandaki Province and at one or two places of Lumbini, Karnali Province and Sudurpaschim Province÷ and at one or two ÷places of hilly regions.

Light rain or thundershowers are likely to occur at some places of the hilly and terai regions of Koshi, Bagmati, Gandaki and Lumbini provinces and at a few places of the hilly regions ÷of Karnali and Sudur Pashchim provinces. There are chances of heavy rain in one or two places of Tarai region of Koshi Province and Gandaki Province.

The Department has urged one and all to stay updated on the latest information of the Department as there is the possibility of it affecting daily life as well as agriculture, health, tourism, mountaineering, road and air transport.
