Kathmandu. KATHMANDU: Possibility of rain in most places of the country today as the influence of monsoon wind continues.

According to the Meteorological Forecasting Division, rainfall will take place in some parts of the country as monsoon trough is a little above the average place in the west and around the average place in the east.

According to the Division, the weather is generally cloudy throughout the country at present. Light rain is likely to occur in some places of the hilly region of Bagmati Province, Gandaki Province and Lumbini Province and at one or two places of the hilly region of Koshi, Karnali and Sudurpaschim provinces.

According to the Meteorological Forecasting Division, there will be generally cloudy in hilly regions and partly cloudy in Gandaki Province, Bagmati Province, Lumbini Province and Sudurpaschim Province and partly cloudy in rest of the country. There is also the possibility of rain and snowfall in some places of the mountainous region.

According to Meteorological Forecasting Division, there are chances of heavy rainfall at one or two places of hilly region of Koshi, Bagmati, Gandaki and Karnali provinces and at one or two places of Tarai region of Lumbini province.

The weather will be generally cloudy throughout the country tonight as well. Light to moderate rain with thunder and lightning is likely to occur at some places of the hilly region of Bagmati Province, Gandaki, Lumbini Province and Sudur Pashchim Province and at one or two places of Tarai Province of Madhes and Koshi Province and at a few places of Karnali Province and Sudur Pashchim Province.

Light rain and snowfall is likely to occur at some places of the mountainous region of Koshi, Bagmati and Gandaki provinces and at a few places of Lumbini, Karnali and Sudurpaschim provinces.

According to Meteorological Forecasting Division, heavy rainfall has been predicted at one or two places of hilly regions of Bagmati and Gandaki provinces and at one or two places of hilly regions of Lumbini Province, Koshi, Bagmati and Karnali provinces.

The Division has urged the residents of these areas to adopt the necessary precaution as the risk of mudslide, flood, landslide and soil erosion is likely to increase due to heavy rainfall. The locality has urged people to stay alert as daily life, agriculture, health service, tourism, mountaineering and road and air transport are also likely to be affected by the floods.
