Chitwan. Vehicular movement along the highway has been obstructed due to landslides at Panidhara and Chumkhola of Ichhakamana rural municipality-2, Phisling. Vehicular movement came to a grinding halt after the landslide occurred at 2.20 am today.

Superintendent of Police Rameshwor Poudel, chief of the District Police Office, Chitwan, said works are underway to clear the landslide debris till 9:00 am. The Narayangadh-Muglin road section, which was closed for traffic on Sunday night due to excessive rainfall, and the Prithvi Highway in Chitwan will resume operation following the eviction of landslides.

The local administration had stopped the vehicular movement from 10:00 pm on Sunday citing the risk of landslide. However, vehicles heading towards Pokhara via Narayangan-Muglin road have come into operation.
