Kathmandu. Various major highways and road sections of the country have been affected due to landslides and road erosion triggered by incessant rainfall.
Releasing details till 6:00 am today, Nepal Police said that nine roads have been completely obstructed.
All types of vehicular movement has been prohibited along the Khurkot-Nepalthok-Katunjebesi road section of the Kavrepalanchowk-Sindhuli highway from 6:00 pm to 4:00 am in view of possible floods.
All types of vehicles have been banned on the Kanti Highway from 5:00 pm to 5:00 am throughout the rainy season.
The Mechi Highway at Rajduwali of Ilam Municipality-9 has been completely obstructed due to the muddy road. The Araniko Highway has been completely obstructed due to landslides at Jirokilo and Kodari areas of Bhotekoshi rural municipality in Sindhupalchowk district.
Similarly, the Kaligandaki corridor at Belbagar of Jaimini municipality-8 in Baglung, the Ghorahi-Thawang Martyrs Highway at Pariwartan rural municipality of Rolpa, the Nagma-Gamgadi road section at Pina Khola of Chhayanath Rara municipality-7 in Mugu, the Pasang Lhamu road section at Gosainkunda rural municipality of Rasuwa, the Mid-hill highway at Panchadeval Binayak municipality-4 in Achham and the Besisahar-Chame-Manang road section at Marsyangdi rural municipality-4 Myagde Bhir in Lamjung district have been completely obstructed due to landslides ।
Meanwhile, the road section along the Lamasanghu-Ramechhap road section at Kirnetar of Tamakoshi rural municipality-5 in Dolakha district has been obstructed due to erosion by the Tamakoshi river, according to police.
