Kathmandu. Heavy rain is forecast at one or two places of the hilly and mountainous region of Bagmati, Gandaki and Karnali provinces today as the influence of monsoon wind continues throughout the country.

According to the Meteorological Forecasting Division, the monsoon low pressure trough is around the average place at present. Though the weather is mainly clear in the Tarai region of Koshi Province at present, it is generally to completely cloudy in the rest of the country. Light to moderate rain is likely to occur at some places of Koshi, Bagmati and Karnali provinces and at one or two places of Gandaki, Lumbini and Sudurpaschim provinces.

According to the Meteorological Forecasting Division, the weather will be generally to completely cloudy in the hilly and mountainous region of the country while it will be partly cloudy in the Tarai region towards the afternoon. Light rain will occur in some places while light snowfall is predicted in high hilly and mountainous area. According to Meteorological Forecasting Division, moderate rain with thunder and lightning is likely to occur at some places of Koshi, Madhes, Lumbini and Sudurpaschim provinces and at one or two places of Tarai of Bagmati and Gandaki provinces.

Likewise, heavy rain is predicted at one or two places of the hilly and mountainous region of Bagmati, Gandaki and Karnali provinces.

The weather will be generally to completely cloudy throughout the country tonight. Light rain or thunder likely to occur at some places of the mountainous and hilly regions of Koshi, Bagmati and Gandaki provinces, and at a few places of the mountainous and hilly regions of Lumbini, Karnali and Sudurpaschim provinces. Likewise, moderate rain is likely to occur at some places of the Tarai region.

According to the Meteorological Forecasting Division, there is a possibility of heavy rain in one or two places of the hilly and mountainous region of Koshi, Bagmati and Gandaki provinces tonight.

The Division has urged the people to stay alert as the risk of mudslide, flood, landslide and soil erosion may increase in these areas due to heavy rain
