Kathmandu. KATHMANDU: Heavy rain has been forecast at one or two places of the hilly region of Bagmati, Gandaki and Karnali provinces today as the influence of monsoon wind continues throughout the country.

At present, the monsoon low pressure trough is around the average location. The weather is generally to generally cloudy in most parts of the country, Koshi, Bagmati, Gandaki, Karnali and Sudurpaschim provinces and partly cloudy in the Terai region.

Light to moderate rain is likely to occur at some places of the hilly region of Koshi, Bagmati, Karnali and Sudurpaschim provinces and at one or two places of the hilly region of Gandaki Province.

According to the Division, the weather will be generally cloudy throughout the country towards the afternoon today. There are chances of moderate rain and snowfall in some places of the mountainous and mountainous region while moderate rain along with thunder and lightning is likely to occur at some places of the Tarai region. There are chances of heavy rain in one or two places of the hilly region of Bagmati, Gandaki and Karnali provinces.

The weather will remain generally cloudy throughout the country tonight. Light rain will occur in some places while light snowfall is predicted in high hilly and mountainous area. Likewise, moderate rain with thunder and lightning is likely to occur at some places of the hilly region of Koshi, Bagmati and Gandaki provinces and at a few places of Lumbini, Karnali and Sudurpaschim provinces.

There are chances of heavy rainfall at one or two places of the hilly region of Koshi Province and at a few places of Bagmati Province and Gandaki Province.

The Division has urged one and all to adopt necessary precaution as there is a risk of mudslide, flood, landslide and soil erosion in the areas prone to heavy rainfall. It has urged all sides concerned to remain alert as it could affect daily life, agriculture, health service, tourism, mountaineering and road and air transport.
