Janakpurdham. A 13-point agreement was signed between the government talks team led by Home Minister Sudhan Gurung and representatives of Hindu groups.
Chief District Officer of Dhanusha, Prem Prasad Luitel, said that the 13-point agreement was reached during the talks held at the District Administration Office, Dhanusha.
During the talks, the agitating Hindu Samrat Sena and the United Hindu Front had submitted a 13-point memorandum of demands raising issues related to religious harmony, social peace and national identity. The agreement was reached on the basis of the same demand letter.
As per the agreement, an all-party discussion would be forwarded within three months regarding declaring Nepal a Hindu state, arms display and provocative activities would be controlled, the use of loudspeakers and loudspeakers installed at religious places including temples and mosques, monasteries and churches would be systematized and arrangements would be made to limit the use of sound in essential religious activities.
Similarly, the agreement has been agreed to record the people living in religious places, monitor and manage the foreign nationals through the bodies concerned, take legal action against those spreading religious, communal and ethnic hatred through social media, review the cases of those arrested after the Dewangunj incident in Sunsari and make arrangements for medical treatment and health services to those injured during the agitation and review the relevance, necessity and legal basis of the religious commissions ।
Likewise, the agreement has been reached to ensure the security of the citizens participating in the agitation, to initiate legal process regarding foreign nationals by investigating the process of distributing Nepali citizenship, to carry out financial monitoring of various resources received in madrasas, mosques and other religious institutions, to maintain transparency of the financial resources coming to the religious institutions and to take forward the process of regulation and action if necessary.
Home Minister Gurung, Chief Minister of Madhes Province Krishna Prasad Yadav, Minister for Finance of Madhes Province Yubaraj Bhattarai, Minister for Home Affairs, Communications and Law Fakira Mahato, Member of House of Representatives Manish Jha, Mayor of Janakpurdham Sub-Metropolitan City Manoj Kumar Sah and representatives of Hindu Samrat Sena were present in the meeting.
