Kathmandu. Five roads in the country have been completely obstructed. The road movement has come to a halt due to floods, landslides and monsoon disasters.
Spokesperson at the Department of Roads, Shuvaraj Neupane, has obstructed the Kanti Highway at Pandur of Bagmati Rural Municipality-3 in Lalitpur, Sitapaila-Dharke road section at Nagarjun Municipality-8, Thulokhola, the Mid-Hill Highway at Bokhim of Bhojpur Municipality-5 and the Mechi Highway at Rajduwali of Ilam Municipality-9.
The Department has mobilized dozers, excavators, loaders and other equipment to clear the road and remove landslides. Police have urged the public to use alternative routes to the blocked road. The Mid-Hill Highway at Bokhim of Bhojpur Municipality-5 in Koshi Province has been obstructed due to floods.
Similarly, the Khurkot-Nepalthok-Katunjebesi section of the BP Highway will be allowed only from 4:00 am to 6:00 pm. The Hetauda-Bhimphedi-Bagmati-Lalitpur road section of the Kanti Highway has been restricted during night.
Similarly, landslides at Bhotekoshi rural municipality-4, Charkilo (Tatopani road) and Kodari area of Sindhupalchowk have obstructed the Araniko Highway.
Police have urged one and all to take special precaution in the risky areas before traveling during the rainy season.
