Nabil and Shine Resunga Development Bank Win Best Bank Award

Kathmandu. Nabil Bank and Shine Resunga Development Bank have won the fourth ICC Emerging Asia Banking Award. Nabil Bank and Shine Resunga have won the Best Bank award at the 4th ICC Emerging Asia Banking Conclave & Awards 2026 organized by Indian Chamber of Commerce and Industry (ICC) in New Delhi.

Shine Resunga has been awarded with Best Development Bank Award, Best Performance on Profitability and Best Performance on Growth.

This achievement has been seen as a significant achievement for Nepal’s banking industry at the international level. Shine Resunga’s achievement in all three categories simultaneously has been analysed as an indicator of good governance, financial discipline, profitability capacity and sustainable growth of Nepali financial institutions. Shine Resunga is a national level development bank with its head office in Rupandehi.

The Economic Affairs and Policy Department of Indian Chamber of Commerce (ICC) had invited applications from banks and financial institutions of BIMSTEC (Nepal, India, Bangladesh, Bhutan, Myanmar, Sri Lanka and Thailand) for the award.

The banks and financial institutions of these South Asian countries competed in various categories of Emerging Asia Banking Award-2026. The participants were evaluated on the basis of various indicators including financial condition, corporate governance, business expansion, profit position, innovation, customer service and overall performance.

In order to make the award selection process more credible and transparent, an independent jury comprising experts from Price WaterhouseCoopers (PwC) was formed. PwC is one of the ‘Big Four’ worldwide and operates in more than 150 countries and nearly 700 locations. PwC’s involvement in the international financial evaluation and audit sector has further strengthened the credibility of the awards.

The Indian Chamber of Commerce (ICC), established in 1925, is one of India’s leading chambers of commerce. The International Cricket Council (ICC), which is active in promoting trade, investment, financial cooperation and economic partnership among the South Asian countries, has been honoring outstanding institutions in the banking and financial sector every year.

This recognition received by Nepal’s banks will further strengthen the trust and credibility of the banking system of the country.
