Mahalaxmi Bikas Bank’s Profit Rises 48.46% 

Kathmandu. KATHMANDU: Mahalaxmi Bikas Bank has published its unaudited financial statements for the fourth quarter of the fiscal year 2082/83. According to the financial report of the bank, the profit of the company increased by 48.46 percent compared to the previous FY.

The bank had posted a net profit of Rs 62.99 crore in the previous fiscal year 2081/82 as against Rs 42.43 crore in the previous fiscal year.

Likewise. During the period, the bank’s net interest income increased by 10.69 percent to Rs 2.14 billion from Rs 1.94 billion in the previous year. Meanwhile, the bank’s operating profit increased by 53.41 percent to Rs 93.79 crore. In the previous fiscal year, the bank had earned Rs 61.14 crore.

In the review period, the bank set aside Rs 31.56 crore as impairment charge as against Rs 51.73 crore in the previous FY. The reduction in the bank’s impairment charge has contributed to the increase in indicators including profit and earnings per share.

After the regulatory adjustments, the net distributable profit till mid-July stood at Rs 46.51 crore. After adjusting the bonus share and cash dividend payment from the accumulated profit of the previous fiscal year, the total distributable profit till mid-July 2018 stood at Rs 465.198 million. Accordingly, the distributable profit of the bank is Rs 10.31 per share.

The bank’s paid-up capital has reached Rs 4.51 billion. The bank’s total equity stood at Rs 7.46 billion.

The bank collected deposit of Rs 55.99 billion from its customers and extended loans of Rs 43.34 billion to its customers. The total assets of the bank stands at Rs 65.05 billion.

In the last fiscal year, the bank’s earnings per share was Rs 13.96. The bank had posted a net profit of Rs 9.88 crore in the previous fiscal year. The bank’s earnings per share (EPS) increased by 4.09 percent.

Similarly, the net worth per share of the bank stands at Rs 165.42. In the previous fiscal year, the bank’s net worth per share was Rs 166.04.

The bank’s bad loans (NPL) have increased in the last fiscal year. Yes Bank’s 6.32 percent. In the previous fiscal year, the bank’s NPL was only 4.98 percent.
