Kathmandu. The government and the family of Rabindra Kumar Mehta, who was killed in the incident at Kaptangamma of Dewangunj Rural Municipality-3 in Sunsari district on July 26, have reached a seven-point agreement.
As per the agreement reached between Mehta’s parents and Home Minister Sudhan Gurung today, the process to declare Mehta a martyr will be forwarded immediately.
As per the agreement, an impartial and effective investigation into the incident that took place on the night of July 24 at Dewangunj-3, Kasangunj would be carried out and necessary action would be taken against the culprits immediately. Likewise, an agreement has been reached to immediately initiate necessary investigation into the legal status of the madrasa at Dewangunj-3 and related issues.
According to the agreement, the government will take necessary initiatives to provide employment to one eligible member of the family of the deceased. The agreement also states that necessary process would be taken to implement the suggestions and recommendations of the report of the probe committee formed to study the incident as per the prevailing laws.
The government has agreed to take the dead body to Sunsari of Dewangunj Rural Municipality-3 by Nepal Army helicopter and cremate the dead.
An agreement has also been reached to construct a memorial park in the appropriate area of the rural municipality this year by allocating budget in coordination with the local government.
