According to Meteorological Forecasting Division, monsoon trough is a little north of Nepal’s average in the western region and roughly around the normal place in the eastern region.

According to the Department of Hydrology and Meteorology, the weather is generally cloudy in the hilly and mountainous areas of Koshi and Lumbini provinces, Bagmati, Gandaki, Karnali and Sudurpaschim provinces.

The weather is partly cloudy in Madhes, Bagmati, Gandaki and Sudurpaschim provinces. Light to moderate rainfall is taking place at some places of Koshi, Bagmati, Gandaki, Lumbini, Karnali and Sudurpaschim provinces.

According to the Division, the weather will be generally cloudy throughout the country towards the afternoon today. Light rain will occur in some places while light snowfall is predicted in high hilly and mountainous area. Heavy rain is predicted at one or two places of the hilly and hilly regions of Karnali Province and at a few places of Lumbini Province and Tarai of Sudurpaschim Province.

Similarly, the weather will be generally cloudy throughout the country tonight. Moderate rain will occur in some places while snowfall is predicted in high hilly and mountainous area. Moderate rain with thunder and lightning is likely to occur at many places of the hilly region, Bagmati, Gandaki, Lumbini and Sudurpaschim provinces.

There are chances of moderate rain at some places of the Tarai region of Madhes and Koshi provinces. According to Meteorological Forecasting Division, there will be generally cloudy in the hilly region of Koshi, Bagmati and Gandaki provinces, and at a few places of Karnali Province, and at a few places of Tarai and Lumbini provinces.

The Division has urged the residents of these areas to adopt the necessary precaution as the risk of mudslide, flood, landslide and soil erosion will increase due to heavy rainfall. Daily life, agriculture, health service, tourism, mountaineering and road and air transport services could be affected, so they have been urged to stay alert.
