Kathmandu. The government has tightened the foreign travel of civil servants and government employees.

The Office of the Prime Minister and Council of Ministers has tightened the implementation of the existing standards in order to make foreign travel systematic and economical.

The Prime Minister’s Office (PMO) has issued a circular to all ministries, commissions and agencies asking them to take prior approval from the Office of the Prime Minister and Council of Ministers before nominating employees for any foreign visit. This provision has been implemented in a way to completely stop foreign travel and nomination without prior approval.

In addition to this, the government has also made strict efforts to institutionally utilize the learning gained from foreign visits within the government mechanism. Employees returning from foreign studies, tours, trainings, meetings, seminars, seminars, workshops or conferences must share their knowledge, skills and good practices with other employees.

According to the criteria, the concerned employees should learn and share experiences with their colleagues within 5 days of attending the office after completing a foreign trip.

The Prime Minister’s Office (PMO) has issued a clear circular to all government agencies to strictly enforce this provision.

The implementation of this standard will prevent unnecessary foreign travel and make the purpose and results of the visit transparent.
